Getting Started

Prerequisites

Node.js 22+
pnpm
Podman and Podman Compose

Setup

Clone the repository and install dependencies:
```
pnpm install
```

Copy the environment file and configure it:

cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env and set secure values for:
# - POSTGRES_PASSWORD
# - KRATOS_SECRETS_COOKIE
# - KRATOS_SECRETS_CIPHER

Start all services with Podman Compose:

podman-compose up

Services

Authentication

The app uses Ory Kratos for authentication with the following flows:

Registration: /auth/registration - Create a new account
Login: /auth/login - Sign in to your account
Recovery: /auth/recovery - Reset forgotten password
Verification: /auth/verification - Verify email address
Settings: /auth/settings - Update account settings
Dashboard: /dashboard - Protected user dashboard

Development

Run individual services locally:

# Frontend (Next.js)
pnpm --filter lightsaver_user_client dev

# Backend (GraphQL API)
pnpm --filter api dev

Docker/Podman Commands

Build and run all services:

podman-compose up --build

Run in detached mode:

podman-compose up -d

Stop all services:

podman-compose down

View logs:

podman-compose logs -f
