  • ✓ Full name field matching
  • ✓ Email field matching
  • ✓ Phone field matching
  • ✓ Company field matching
  • ✓ First name field matching
  • ✓ Last name field matching
  • ✓ Empty value handling
  • ✓ Multiple field matching

📦 Build Output

The dist/ folder contains:

  • manifest.json - Extension manifest
  • background.js - Background service worker
  • content.js - Content script
  • popup.html, popup.js, popup.css - Popup UI
  • icons/ - Extension icons

🔒 Privacy & Security

  • All data stored locally in browser storage
  • No external servers or data transmission
  • User has full control over their data
  • Can clear resume data anytime

🎨 Code Quality

  • TypeScript Strict Mode: Enabled with comprehensive type checking
  • ESLint: Configured with TypeScript-specific rules
  • Prettier: Consistent code formatting
  • No Linting Errors: All code passes strict linting
  • All Tests Passing: 100% test success rate

🔧 Architecture

Service Layer

  • FormDetector: Scans and identifies form fields on web pages
  • FieldMatcher: Intelligent matching of resume data to form fields

Storage

  • Uses Firefox's browser.storage.local API
  • Stores parsed resume data as JSON
  • Tracks last update timestamp

Messaging

  • Background script handles storage operations
  • Content script manages page interaction
  • Popup communicates with both via message passing

📚 Next Steps

To enhance the extension further, consider:

  1. Better Resume Parsing:

    • Integrate with a resume parsing API
    • Support more file formats
    • Extract structured data more accurately
  2. Field Mapping Intelligence:

    • Machine learning for better field detection
    • Learn from user corrections
    • Support multi-page forms
  3. UI Enhancements:

    • Edit resume data in the popup
    • Multiple resume profiles
    • Field-by-field manual override
  4. Browser Support:

    • Add Chrome support
    • Add Edge support
    • Build cross-browser package
  5. Advanced Features:

    • Save form drafts
    • Auto-detect job application pages
    • Keyboard shortcuts

🐛 Known Limitations

  • Basic resume parser (extracts email, phone, skills)
  • Works best with standard HTML forms
  • May not work with heavily customized React/Vue forms
  • Icons are simple SVG placeholders
